Level Six Gear Review

So, after a few sessions in my new Level Six gear I feel now is a good time to write up a review of how I'm finding the gear! So here it goes!

Here's a list of the gear I'm paddling in:
  • Mack 2.0 dry top
  • Hot Fuzz long sleeve thermal top
  • Vapour short sleeve thermal top
  • Neo lined shorts
  • King spray skirt

To start with the top half of my gear, the Mack 2.0 is a great dry top, it allows you to move freely as well as not being loose. It's super dry and I'm actually getting off the water being dry under my gear, which is a first for a very long time! I'm using a rubber rand spray skirt for the first time ever in my paddling career and its a smooth transition other than getting used to having to put more effort into putting the skirt on. After leaving the skirt on my boat for about a week to stretch slightly it was much easier to get on and make an amazing seal with the boat due to the jagged teeth along the rand which makes great contact with the cockpit on the boat! With separates I always found that they pulled up while paddling allowing water getting in, with my Level Six gear I'm not having this issue as there is a layer of neoprene to make the dry top tunnel stick to the tunnel of the spray skirt.

Now onto my thermals, although they are thin; they've kept me nice and toasty while on the water, im used to paddling with two thick thermals and still getting chilly. I'm really surprised on how well these thermals work so well, and they don't rub on your skin while paddling which makes them so comfortable!

For the bottom half of my kit I'm using the Level Six neoprene lined shorts. I'm really happy with the length on the shorts as they are more 3 quarter length trousers, this means that when I'm in my boat I'm not getting rubbed around my knees. Also the shorts are really warm due to the neo lining in these shorts. They also have really handy pockets on each leg for keeping the little odd things in while either on the water or on the water.

So in conclusion, if your looking for warm, dry, good looking and useful gear, make sure to hit up Level Six, they're an awesome company and you will get some amazing customer service and friendly expert advice. Make sure to check out the Level Six webpage at http://www.levelsix.com/
